Origins:

The Hair Massacure is currently working on its 8th year as a family run event. Since 2003, $3,640,000 has been raised by the Hair Massacure for Edmonton and Northern Alberta.

Many young cancer survivors shave their heads (after they've experienced hairloss – WOW!)

The event was inspired by Kali MacDonald, youngest daughter of the MacDonald family. Kali was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia at age 2. Kali has been in remission for 6 years.

A shot of supporters in Edmonton.

We would like to Thank Everyone who participated in the
Make-A-Wish® Eastern Ontario’s Fourth Annual Hair Massacure February 27, 2010. We shaved over 100 heads in 4 hours.

We raised $36,000.00+ in this years campaign, and it could not be possible without the support of the community here in eastern Ontario

Isabelle, 9 got her wish for a blue Piano last year,
This year she's going Bald for Wishes!

This years Spokes-kid (and Wish Kid), Isabelle will be participating and going bald alongside her mother
Sandra (click here to pledge her)
. Isabelle is extremely excited about going bald at the event with everyone.

CTV's Michael O'Byrne will be on hand to help with the process, and expect other celebrity shavers on hand! So far the list includes: Mayor Larry O'Brian, KISS FM's Jeff Graham & more.

Isabelle serves as a true inspiration to all of us as we know Isabelle has gone bald before during
medical treatments. In a surprise move upon finding out she would be losing her hair to chemo
- she immediately shaved it off and donated it to another girl in need of a wig.

Way to go Isabelle!

The 4th Annual Hair Massacure is a head shaving campaign with a few twists!
We don’t just want you to shave your head - we want to try to raise $30,000
for Make-A-Wish and Shave your head at our big event in Place d'Orleans Shopping Centre.

Souvenir event t-shirts and touques will be given free of charge to anyone who registers.

Spread the word and encourage your family, friends, colleagues, teachers and teammates
to sign up and be apart of supporting the event and making a difference in a child’s life.

Media Challenge:Are you a member of the local media and want to get your head shaved?

We thank all who have already stepped forward to go bald for wishes.

Chin Radio Ottawa 97.9
announcers made
themselves a goal
of $1000 and will be
going bald on Feb 27th.

Outside of Ottawa or busy on the 27th? We have more dates and locations  to choose from.
